Take the ropeway to the summit and enjoy a panoramic view of Sapporo

About this spot

At 531 meters elevation, this mountain overlooks the Sapporo cityscape, and you can easily access the summit observation deck by taking the ropeway and mini cable car in succession. From the observation deck, a spectacular panoramic vista spreads out, offering views all the way to the Ishikari Plain and Ishikari Bay. The night view from here is famous nationwide. The breathtaking daytime views from the mountain are equally spectacular, and you may even be able to see the fireworks venue in the distance. It's a perfect spot for capturing memorable family photos.

2026年8月8日(土)、札幌の夏を代表する花火大会のひとつとして開催される第17回ばんけい夏まつり大花火大会です。約10,000発という道内でも屈指の規模の花火が、山に囲まれたスキー場の斜面から次々と打ち上がります。すり鉢状の地形を活かした会場のため、花火を間近で大きく見上げられる大迫力の演出が特徴。昼間に楽しんだ自然豊かな1日の締めくくりにふさわしい、圧巻のフィナーレです。

Tips

荒天時は中止や延期になる場合があるため、当日は主催者の公式発表を確認しましょう。会場は大変混雑するため、終了後は時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。北海道の夜は涼しいので防寒対策を。

Tips

Car or bus access is convenient for reaching the ropeway station. Temperatures are lower at the summit, so bringing a light jacket is helpful. Taking a break at the observation deck's restaurant or café is also recommended.
