About this spot

This 531-meter mountain overlooks the city of Sapporo, and you can easily reach the summit observation deck by taking a ropeway followed by a mini cable car. From the observation deck, a grand panorama stretches out as far as the Ishikari Plain and Ishikari Bay, and the spot is known nationwide as a famous night-view location. Even during the daytime, the exhilarating view from the mountain is exceptional, and you may even be able to make out the area of the fireworks venue you'll visit later, off in the distance. It's also a perfect spot to snap a memorable family photo.

Tips

Access to the ropeway station is convenient by car or bus. Temperatures can drop at the summit, so it's reassuring to bring a light layer. It's also a good idea to take a break at the restaurant or café at the observation deck.

About 1 hour 30 minutes. On clear days, you can see far into the distance
