Have a light meal at local eateries and shops, and prepare to head toward the mountains
About this spot
A locally-rooted shopping street that spreads immediately upon exiting Hanno Station (飯能駅) on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. Old-fashioned eateries, bakeries, and Japanese confectionery shops line the street, perfect for a light meal before heading into the mountains. Hanno is also known as a production area for timber called Nishikawa wood (西川材), and shops with a warm feel of wood are scattered throughout. Since the following attractions are located in mountainous areas with few shops, it's wise to stock up on drinks and light snacks here.
Fireworks details
Name:
Date & time: 8/16 (Sun) Time TBA
Venue:
Tips
Tips
Just off the north exit of Hanno Station. Since there are almost no shops around Takedera Temple (竹寺), prepare drinks and light snacks here in advance. There's also a coin locker at the station, so you can lighten your luggage before setting out.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour required. The late morning time slot is relatively quiet
