Nakasuga Ground, the venue for the Yufu City Hasama Fireworks Display, starts filling with local residents waiting for the fireworks as evening approaches. Once you've spread out your leisure sheet on the spacious ground and secured a spot, have dinner with food-stall snacks or a packed lunch you brought. The early-autumn evening is more comfortable than the daytime, and you can wait for the show to start while feeling the cool mountain breeze.

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Yufugawa Gorge. Roads in the area get congested on the day of the fireworks display, so arriving early is recommended. It's a good idea to buy food and drinks during the daytime to be safe.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes needed. The cooler time around sunset is the most comfortable.
