Tori no Umi (Bird's Sea), a brackish lagoon connected to the Pacific Ocean, is one of the representative landscapes of Watari Town. Many wild birds flock to the calm water surface, and you can enjoy a quiet waterside landscape different from the sea. A walking path is maintained along the breakwater, and the charm is being able to take a leisurely stroll while feeling the ocean breeze. At night, this area becomes the venue for the fireworks festival; walking through it while it's still light will help you get a sense of how it will look at night.

Tips
荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は亘理町の公式発表を確認しましょう。終了後は道路が大変混み合うため、少し時間を置いてから帰路につくのがおすすめです。海辺は足元が暗いので懐中電灯やスマホのライトを準備しておくと安心です。

About 10 minutes by car from Michi no Eki Watari. Since the seaside can be windy, be careful that items such as hats don't blow away. It's also close to the next destination, Tori no Umi Park.
Best time to visit
