About this spot

This is Miyazaki Prefecture's first river pool, making direct use of the clear waters of the Honjo River. It was built using a bed-stabilizing weir installed during river improvement work in 1985, and its 25-meter-long water surface is divided into sections 70 centimeters and 30 centimeters deep. In this natural flow, where fish sometimes swim, even small children can enjoy the water. Cool off in the mountain village's clear stream and catch your breath before the evening fireworks festival.

Tips

You can reach it from Sukimurando on foot or by car. The surrounding roads get crowded on the day of the fireworks festival, so early action is recommended. It is a good idea to buy food and drinks in advance at the Sukimurando shop.

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The time around sunset, when it cools down, is the most comfortable
