About this spot

This calm beach is located in the Wasa district, the hometown of lyricist Tetsuro Hoshino. Two breakwaters decorated with stars stand symmetrically as if guarding the beach, and a star-shaped monument resembling a lighthouse stands nearby. Having appeared on the cover of a cycling magazine, it is a popular photo spot among cyclists, and it is also known as a spot for star photography at night. You can spend time here that is uniquely Suo Oshima, looking out at the Seto Inland Sea.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from Mutsu Memorial Museum. It is reassuring to check in advance whether showers and changing rooms are available. The sun can be strong, so take frequent breaks and stay hydrated.
