This is a city facility standing in front of JR Nakatsugawa Station. The first floor houses the Nigiwai Tokusankan (にぎわい特産館), a hall gathering local specialty products, along with the Nakatsugawa City Tourist Information Center. Chestnut sweets, Japanese confections, local sake, woodwork, and fresh vegetables are on display, and you can also enjoy soft-serve ice cream made with the famous kuri kinton. On the day of the Oiden Festival, food stalls also fill the area in front of the station, making it even livelier from the evening onward as excitement builds toward the fireworks.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from the Nakasendo History Museum. It gets very crowded from evening onward on the day of the festival, so it's recommended to have dinner early.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours. It's reassuring to finish your meal early, before sunset
