Held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, this fireworks display closes out summer in Tono, the village of folk tales. Fireworks rise over the surface of the Hayase River, their sound echoing off the surrounding satoyama hills to create a distinctive atmosphere. Looking up at the fireworks while remembering the legends encountered at Kappa Fuchi and Tono Monogatari no Yakata during the day gives them a storytelling quality unlike anywhere else. It's a special event that colors summer nights, cherished by the people of Tono.
