The area of the Kitakami River near Kitakami Ohashi Bridge, flowing through Kawasaki, Ichinoseki City, is tonight's fireworks venue. During the day, it's an open, expansive space where you can relax and take in the riverside view or stroll along the embankment. Since the area fills up with fireworks-watching crowds from evening into the night, it's reassuring to check out the atmosphere and surrounding roads while it's still light out. With around 10,000 shells launched, it's such a large-scale event that a wide area becomes the viewing zone on the day.
Tips
About a 10-minute drive from Michi-no-Eki Kawasaki. There's little shade from the sun during the day, so a hat is reassuring to have.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes needed. It becomes more comfortable as evening approaches.
