About this spot
The heart of Onsenzu Onsen, which flourished as the shipping port for the UNESCO World Heritage Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. On both sides of the narrow alleyways, traditional inns and shops featuring distinctive reddish-brown Sekishu tile roofs stand side by side, creating a retro atmosphere as if time has stopped. Designated as a national important traditional structures preservation district, this town allows visitors to experience the spirit of a historic hot spring resort simply by walking its streets. On the day of the fireworks festival, the town gradually becomes busier starting from midday, so it's recommended to enjoy a leisurely stroll in the early afternoon before crowds arrive.

2026年8月8日(土)開催、温泉津温泉の夏を彩る花火大会です。三方を山に囲まれた小さな入り江に打ち上がる花火は、音が周囲の山々に反響してひときわ大きく響きます。世界遺産の町として知られる石見銀山ゆかりの温泉町で見る花火は、都会の花火大会とはまた違う、静かで趣のある味わいがあります。夜空を彩る光の連なりと、港に停まる漁船のシルエットが重なる景色は、この土地ならではの夏の風物詩です。

荒天時の開催可否は大田市や主催者の公式発表で確認しましょう。会場周辺は駐車スペースが限られるため、公共交通機関や町並みからの徒歩移動がおすすめです。終了後は温泉街への道が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでから移動すると安心です。
Tips
About 10 minutes on foot from Onsenzu Station on the Sanin Main Line. The town is compact with mostly flat paths, making it easy for families to navigate. In summer, the sun is strong, so bring a parasol or hat for protection. A gentle uphill path continues to the next destination, Ryu Gozen Shrine.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 1 hour. Early afternoon hours have fewer tourists, allowing for a leisurely stroll.
