About this spot

A one-of-a-kind museum centered on items connected to the Edo-period yokai scroll Inou Mononokeroku (稲生物怪録), written in Miyoshi, along with a collection of yokai gathered from across Japan. From adorable to slightly eerie, the wide variety of yokai on display can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Learn why Miyoshi is known as the land of yokai legends while getting into the spirit of the trip.

Tips

About a 15-minute walk from JR Miyoshi Station (JR三次駅), or about 5 minutes by car. The museum is air-conditioned, making it a good place to cool off on hot days from summer through autumn. Some exhibits may be a bit scary for small children, so keep an eye on them as you go around.
