About this spot

This park, Shinshiro City's signature green space, is known for the scenic gorge carved by the Toyokawa River. It's also famous as a cherry-blossom spot, but in summer, the lush, green gorge promenade and the view from the suspension bridge feel refreshingly cool, making it perfect for a family stroll. Since tonight's fireworks will be held along this stretch of the Toyokawa riverside, it's a good idea to get a feel for the venue during the day. Spending time listening to the murmur of the river is one of the most pleasant moments of the day.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from the Nagashino Castle Ruins. The suspension bridge sways, so hold small children's hands firmly while crossing. The area has plenty of shade, but take frequent breaks in summer.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The sun softens later in the afternoon, making it easier to stroll around.
