About this spot

These castle ruins are known as the setting for one of the Sengoku period's most iconic battles. No structures such as a main keep remain, but earthworks and moat traces still exist today, letting you walk through and get a feel for its terrain as a stronghold flanked by rivers. The adjoining museum also has exhibits related to the battle, making this a particularly rewarding spot for history-loving families. Take a quiet walk under the summer sun and imagine the warlords of that era.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from Shinshiro Station. Some paths on the grounds are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Visiting the museum as well adds to your time here, so plan accordingly.

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The sun is still strong in the early afternoon, so stay hydrated regularly.
