Held around Ryotsu Port (Ryotsu-Ebisu and Ryotsu-Minato), this river-opening fireworks display caps off the Tanabata Festival. With about 500 shells, the scale is compact, but the fireworks launched right by the harbor pack plenty of impact, and the bands of light reflected on the water's surface are beautiful to watch. Gaze up together as a family at the finale of this long-cherished local summer festival, carried on the night breeze of a port town. It's a memorable close to a day of Sado sightseeing that began with meeting the toki.
