A shrine cherished by the people of the island as the local tutelary deity of the Motocho district. Though located close to the port, the shrine grounds are surrounded by trees and enveloped in a peaceful atmosphere. It is a place that conveys the history and faith of Izu Oshima to the present day, and is a fitting place to offer gratitude for arriving on the island and to pray for a safe and peaceful day ahead. Stone steps lead up to a small shrine building where you can quietly offer your respects.

2026年8月8日(土)開催、伊豆大島の夏を締めくくる恒例の花火大会です。元町港周辺から打ち上がる花火は、潮風とともに間近で見上げることができ、火山と海に囲まれた島ならではの開放的な景色の中で楽しめます。夏まつりの一環として開催されるこの花火は、島の人も観光客も一体になって盛り上がる、伊豆大島の夏を象徴する時間です。花火の光が夜の海にも映り込み、島の夜だからこそ見られる幻想的な光景が広がります。

Tips

荒天時は中止や延期になる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は町の公式発表で確認を。終了後は港周辺やフェリー乗り場が混み合うため、フィナーレの余韻を楽しんでから時間差での移動がおすすめです。夜は海風で冷えることがあるので羽織ものを。

Tips

Within walking distance from Motocho Port. Entrance is free. The sun is strong during the day, so a hat is recommended for the path to the shrine grounds. Travel to the next destination, Mt. Mihara, by local bus or rental car.
