Motomachi Port is the gateway to Izu Oshima, where ferries and jet boats arrive and depart. Around the terminal, eateries serving the island's seafood and local dishes are clustered together, making it a perfect location for lunch ahead of the afternoon's swimming. You can also enjoy the sea view from the port, and dining while watching boats come and go makes for a moment that feels distinctly like an island trip. In the afternoon you'll only need to move to nearby Hinodehama, so you can relax and enjoy your meal without worrying about time.

Tips

Eateries are scattered both inside and outside the terminal, so choosing based on how crowded they are can help cut down on waiting. Since it's before swimming, be careful not to overeat. Hinodehama is nearby, so you can head there right after eating.

About 45 minutes. Arriving a little after noon makes it easier to avoid the crowds
