This area faces Shioya Bay, where a deep inlet forms calm waters, and Shioya Fishing Port, which has usually hosted the summer festival, sits within this bay. The surrounding area is designated as the Shioya Bay Area within Yanbaru National Park, known for its inlet, karst topography, and the broadleaf evergreen forest unique to limestone terrain. The Unjami (sea god festival) held in the bay is designated a nationally important intangible folk cultural property. After spending a full day exploring the nature of Ogimi Village, have dinner here and take a leisurely stroll around the fishing port at dusk to close out your day.

Tips

Restaurants and shops within the settlement are limited in number, so an earlier visit is recommended for both dining and shopping. Some areas have little street lighting, so be careful when moving around after dark. You can walk to Shioya Fishing Port from here.
