About this spot

This ria coast bay, with its beautifully complex terrain, spans the border between Ogimi Village and Nakijin Village. Shioya Fishing Port, which has usually hosted the summer festival, sits at the mouth of this bay, and the scenery of calm water woven together with surrounding greenery is filled with the quiet character typical of northern Okinawa Island. Taking in the bay's scenery before evening lets you slowly savor the inlet's beauty as it changes expression toward dusk. Activities like canoeing are sometimes available too, so a paddle on the water is worth considering if you have time.

Tips

You can drive here from Ta Falls. Viewpoints are scattered along the road, so it's reassuring to check easy-to-stop-at spots in advance. Next, you'll head to the Shioya settlement for dinner.
