This shrine, dedicated to the successive lords of the Daishoji Domain, stands quietly at the center of the castle town of Daishoji. On the grounds remains an elegant tea house building that was once the lord's villa, offering a glimpse into the history of the Daishoji Domain during the Edo period. The lush green grounds are wrapped in a calm atmosphere away from the bustle of the town, making it a wonderful spot for a family visit. As the starting point for exploring the history of the Daishoji Domain, the origin of tonight's Jumangoku Matsuri fireworks festival, it's a fitting place to begin your day.

Tips

About 10 minutes on foot from JR Daishoji Station. Worship is free. The grounds are compact, making them easy to explore even in a short time. It's about a 10-minute walk to the next stop, Zenshoji Temple.
