A Soto Zen Buddhist temple built in the castle town of Daishouji, widely known for the 500 rakan (arhat) statues enshrined in the Rakan Hall behind the main hall. The sight of stone statues lined up, each with different facial expressions, is impressive. It's also fun to search for a statue that resembles a family member's face. The temple is also known as a place where Matsuo Basho (松尾芭蕉) stopped during his journey along the Narrow Road to the Deep North, and stone monuments with his haiku remain on the grounds. A highlight of Daishouji exploration where you can enjoy both history and tranquility.

旧大聖寺藩十万石の歴史を伝える秋祭り「十万石まつり」のクライマックスを飾る花火大会です。加賀市役所前広場周辺を会場に、城下町の夜空へ次々と花火が打ち上がります。昼間歩いた歴史ある街並みが夜の帳とともに祭り一色に染まり、地域の人々の思いが込められた花火が街全体を彩ります。城下町散策の締めくくりにふさわしい、歴史と光が重なる特別な時間です。

Tips

荒天時は中止・延期となる場合があるため、当日は加賀市の公式発表で確認を。終了後は会場周辺の道路や駅が混み合うため、しばらく余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がおすすめです。

Tips

About 10 minutes on foot from Enuma Shrine. Admission is approximately 300 yen for adults. The Rakan Hall requires removing your shoes before entering, so easy-to-slip footwear is recommended. The Daishouji River promenade is about 5 minutes on foot away.
