This offshore fireworks display is launched from the waters off Yoshihama Beach, right next to Yugawara Onsen. In 2026, due to the effects of Typhoon No. 13, the event was postponed from its originally scheduled date of August 3 to Sunday, August 23. About 2,000 fireworks shells are packed into just 20 minutes, creating an intense viewing experience as fireworks open one after another at a brisk pace. One of the highlights is the atmospheric night view unique to a hot spring town, where the lights of the ryokan inns overlap with the fireworks. Watching fireworks alongside the sound of the waves makes for a special finale to your hot spring getaway.
