With its spacious riverbed, it's also a great place to secure a spot and cool off in the evening. It's a relaxed stretch of time before the fireworks, spent taking in the view of the Sakawa River at dusk.

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Ashigara. The festival starts at 3:30 p.m., and the fireworks launch at 8:00 p.m. Parking near the venue is limited, so early arrival is recommended. Many food stalls accept cash only, so have some small change ready.
