View the Historic Triple Water Wheels Still Operating Since the Edo Period
About this spot
A facility where you can observe the Triple Water Wheels, built during the Edo period and still operating today more than 260 years later to pump irrigation water for rice paddies. The sight of large wooden water wheels slowly rotating while splashing water is impressive and has been designated as a National Historic Site as a valuable cultural property conveying the history of agricultural water management. Adjacent facilities offer local vegetables and processed products for purchase, with comfortable rest areas where you can cool off while enjoying the view. It's an ideal stop to feel the refreshing spray of water amid summer heat.
