A circular burial mound of impressive scale among the ancient mounds scattered throughout Miyako Town, and a precious spot where you can actually enter and view the horizontal-chamber stone room inside. The stone room, constructed from massive stones stacked together, is an awe-inspiring space that speaks to the engineering prowess of ancient people. The cool interior of the stone room offers a refreshing escape from summer's heat. Combined with a visit to Buzen Kokubunji Temple, it makes for a perfect walk tracing Miyako Town's ancient history.

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日はみやこ町の公式発表で確認を。会場周辺の駐車場は台数が限られるため、早めの到着がおすすめです。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、しばらく余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がスムーズです。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Buzen Kokubunji Temple. The ground inside the stone room is unstable, so wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight for peace of mind. It's about 10 minutes by car to the next destination, Sun Great Miyako.
