About this spot
Known as Fukumitsu Kokuzou, this is a celebrated temple counted as one of Japan's three major Kokuzou Temples. The main hall, built on a cliff overlooking the Tajimi River, features stage-style construction and is noted for its beautiful cantilever architecture reminiscent of Kiyomizu Temple. From the temple grounds, you can take in a panoramic view of Yanizu's townscape and the flow of the Tajimi River - the perfect spot to view the river by daylight before tonight's fireworks. The temple is also known as the guardian temple for those born in the Year of the Ox and the Year of the Tiger, attracting many visitors.

只見川のほとり、瀞流の宿かわち前を会場に開かれる、地域の先祖供養と結びついた「霊まつり流灯花火大会」です。約7,500発の花火が山あいの夜空を彩り、静かな只見川の水面にその光が映り込む幻想的な景色が広がります。灯籠流しの伝統も受け継がれており、単なる花火大会にとどまらない厳かで温かい雰囲気に包まれるのが特徴です。1日かけて柳津の歴史と芸術に触れた締めくくりに、家族で夜空と川面を見上げましょう。
Tips
荒天時は中止・延期となる場合があるため、当日は柳津町の公式発表で確認を。会場周辺の駐車場は台数が限られるため、早めの到着がおすすめです。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、しばらく余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がスムーズです。

About a 20-minute walk from Aizu-Yanizu Station. The approach has stone steps, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Entry is free. The summer sun is strong, so bring a hat and beverages. It's about a 10-minute walk to the next stop, Saitoh Kiyoshi Art Museum.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. The early afternoon time slot is relatively uncrowded, allowing for a leisurely visit.
