About this spot
Held from 19:00 on Saturday, August 29, 2026, this is a fireworks display that colors summer in southern Iwaki City. About 2,000 fireworks are launched one after another from the Samegawa riverbank, and the way their light reflects on the quiet river surface is one of the highlights. Sitting on a picnic sheet amid the liveliness of the food stalls and looking up at the fireworks is a fitting sight to close out the summer. Because the riverbank is open and spacious, families can watch in comfort.

In case of severe weather, the event may be cancelled or postponed, so check the organizer's announcement on the day for whether it will be held. Roads in the area become congested afterward, so it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow for a while before heading home. Since it's dark underfoot, having your phone's light on hand is reassuring.
