About this spot

Samegawa Riverbank Park (鮫川河川敷公園) is a city park stretching along the Samegawa River in Shimokawahara, Ueda-machi, Iwaki City. It has a lawn square, a sunflower square, east and west sports grounds, and a barbecue area, and is normally used for sports and play by the riverside. On the day of the fireworks display, local food stalls line the riverbank, and the area fills with festival energy from the evening. After returning from Nakoso Beach, spread out a picnic sheet to secure your viewing spot and have dinner from the food stalls.

Tips

From the evening on the day of the fireworks display, the surrounding roads become very congested. It's recommended to get your food early, before the stalls get crowded. Please take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes needed. Recommended to spend time around sunset, watching the colors change on the river's surface.
