About this spot

About a 10-minute walk from JR Kisakata Station, this campground spreads through the pine grove along Kisakata Beach, known for its shallow, gently sloping sandy shore. The beach in front has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Sunset Spots and one of Japan's 100 Best Swimming Beaches, offering views of a lighthouse and fishing port. After returning from Kanman-ji, cool off in the shade of the pine grove, have dinner from the food stalls, and secure a viewing spot as the sun sets over the Sea of Japan.

Tips

From the evening of the fireworks day onward, both the parking lots and the roads around the beach get congested. It's recommended to get your food early, before the stalls get crowded. Please take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 45 minutes. The sunset hour, as the sun sinks into the Sea of Japan, is recommended.
