This is a long-established market street in Katsumoto, a port town in the northern part of Iki Island. Shops selling fresh seafood, dried fish, and island-only souvenirs line the street, giving off a relaxed, port-town atmosphere. The market is best known for its early-morning hours, but even in the early afternoon you can enjoy the island's atmosphere by browsing the surrounding shops. Katsumoto Port, the venue for the fireworks festival, is just nearby, so start your island stroll around here.

Tips

From Gonoura Port (郷ノ浦港) or Ashibe Port (芦辺港), buses or taxis are the standard way to get here. Business hours vary by shop, so it's reassuring to check in advance which ones are open. It's about a 10-minute drive to the next stop, Ondake Shrine (男嶽神社).
