A castle with history dating back to the Edo period, built on a hilltop overlooking Hirado Strait. While the current castle tower is a reconstruction, the top floor offers panoramic views of Hirado Bridge and Hirado Strait, making it a popular scenic spot unique to Hirado. The castle interior features exhibits introducing the history of Hirado as a thriving trade port, allowing families to experience history while enjoying a cool respite. From here, you can also see the distant waters of the Tabira area where tonight's fireworks will take place.

2026年8月29日(土)開催、田平港一帯を舞台にしたシーサイド花火大会です。約2,000発の花火が平戸瀬戸の夜空に打ち上がり、遠くには平戸大橋のシルエットも浮かび上がります。港沿いから海面に映る花火を眺められるのが、この大会ならではの魅力。昼間に巡った平戸の歴史散策の締めくくりにふさわしい、海辺の夜のフィナーレです。

Tips

About 20 minutes by car from Michi no Eki Konchū no Sato Tabira after crossing Hirado Bridge. Since there are stairs to reach the castle tower, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Be careful of traffic congestion on Hirado Bridge when returning to the Tabira Harbor area toward evening.
