This Catholic church stands on a hilltop overlooking the harbor, its pale green exterior walls and skyward-reaching spire serving as a symbol for the town of Hirado. Named in commemoration of missionary Francis Xavier's (フランシスコ・ザビエル) visit to Hirado, where he brought Christianity to Japan, a memorial statue of Xavier stands on the grounds. From the stone-paved slope leading to the church, you can view the unique 'View of Temples and Churches'—temple tile roofs and the church spire overlapping in a way that embodies Hirado's distinctive character as a place where East and West prayers coexist. The quiet interior, where soft light streams through the windows, is also a sight to behold.

As this is an active place of worship, please observe silence during your visit. Avoid entering the church during Mass or other ceremonies. The best photographic spot for the 'View of Temples and Churches' is midway up the stone-paved slope leading to the church.
