Held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, this is the 73rd edition of this summer tradition in the town of Shisa. About 1,000 fireworks shells launch from the lower reaches of the Shisa River, and together with the light reflected on the water, they create the warm atmosphere typical of a local summer festival. The scale isn't large, but the impact of watching the fireworks up close from the riverbed is exceptional. Enjoyed together with the local residents, it's a fitting way to close out summer in Matsuura.
