Approximately 8,000 Fireworks Showcasing Shinshū's Grandest Scale
About this spot
The Shinshū Ueda Grand Fireworks Festival held on August 29, 2026 (Saturday), showcasing one of Shinshū's largest scales. Approximately 8,000 fireworks launch from the Chikuma River riverbed (downstream of Tsunedata New Bridge), with numerous star mines of various sizes filling the night sky. The grand finale is appropriately spectacular after a full day of exploration through this castle town associated with the Sanada clan. The reverberation of sound bouncing off the mountains surrounding the Ueda basin adds a unique charm characteristic of this festival.
