About this spot

This plaza spreads out in front of Hiraka Station (平賀駅) on the Konan Railway's Konan Line. Hiraka Station is Hirakawa City's central station, close to City Hall, and has been selected as one of the 100 Selected Stations of Tohoku (東北の駅百選); the Konan Railway head office is also located near the station. About a 5-minute walk away is the Neputa Exhibition Hall (ねぷた展示館), home to the world's largest fan-shaped neputa float. It's a convenient area to grab a snack or do some shopping before heading to the Tsugaru Fireworks Festival.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from Seibien (盛美園). It's about a 10-minute drive to Hakucho Fureai Plaza on the Hirakawa riverbank (平川河畔白鳥ふれあい広場) as evening approaches. Allow plenty of time for travel to the next spot.

About 1 hour. A good time to stop by for an afternoon snack.
