Next stop: Stroll a small island reachable by bridge, with clear water and strange rocksAbout this spot
Irozaki, at the southern tip of the Izu Peninsula, is a beauty spot where a white lighthouse stands at the end of a cape jutting into the Pacific. The rugged coastline of sheer cliffs and the endlessly spreading blue sea make for a scale among the greatest on the Izu Peninsula. A walking path runs out to the tip of the cape, so families can walk slowly and feel the sea breeze. On clear days you can even see the Izu Islands in the distance, making it an ideal viewpoint for sensing the vastness of the sea you are about to swim in. As a warm-up before the water obstacle course, try a stroll in the clear morning air.
Tips
It is about 15 minutes by car from Yumigahama. The walking path to the cape has ups and downs, so visiting in comfortable shoes is recommended. There is little to block the sun, so do not forget a hat and something to drink.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. In the cool morning hours the views are clear and the walk pleasant
