A historic park at the site where Minamoto no Yoritomo is said to have lived during his exile to Izu. Statues of Yoritomo and his wife, Hojo Masako, stand here, surrounded by pastoral countryside. Even for those not particularly interested in history, it's a pleasant spot to catch your breath in a quiet park. It's recommended as a final historical stop before concluding your Izu no Kuni City sightseeing tour.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Izu Nagaoka Hot Spring Town. The compact park can be viewed in a short time. Limited shade, so wear a hat in summer.
