Flow of the course

About this spot

A sandbar stretching toward Yoyoshima Island south of Tonosho Port that emerges from the sea only twice daily during low tide—the famous "Angel's Path." Known as a sacred site for lovers where wishes come true when couples hold hands while crossing, the crescent-shaped sandy path and the beautiful multi-island landscape of the Seto Inland Sea can be seen in their entirety from Yakusoku-no-Oka (Promise Hill) Observation Point at the entrance. Romantic experiences abound: ring the bell at the observation point together, write wishes on shell-shaped ema plaques, and slowly walk the sandy path listening to the waves as you cross to the small island—your island adventure's highlight is guaranteed.

Tips

The path is only passable 2-3 hours before and after low tide. Check the tide chart in advance and adjust your visit time accordingly. Wear shoes or sandals you don't mind getting dirty, as you'll walk on wet sand. Free parking is available, just minutes by car from Tonosho Port.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Passable before and after low tide. Morning hours see fewer crowds and the sandbar appears clearer.
