Watch the Bon Dance Celebrating Good Harvest Followed by Fireworks Lighting Up the Night Sky

Held on August 15, 2026 (Saturday), a festival concluding the summer in Kishimoto of Hoki Town at the foot of Mount Daisen. First, a Bon dance celebrating a good harvest is performed, then after watching local residents dance in circles, fireworks burst into the night sky. While there's no official announcement of the number of fireworks, it's a warm-hearted fireworks display long cherished as a local O-Bon tradition. The fireworks viewed to the accompaniment of drums and traditional music has a different charm from urban fireworks displays.

In case of bad weather, the event may be cancelled or postponed, so check Hoki Town's official announcement on the day. After it ends, surrounding roads become congested, so waiting a bit before leaving is recommended. Rice paddy paths are very dark at night, so be careful of your footing.
