In front of Akune Station on the JR Hisatsu Orange Railway, local shops and restaurants are scattered about. On the evening of the fireworks display, it's the perfect time to pick up a takeout meal. Once you've finished shopping, head toward the venue, lay out a leisure sheet, and relax while you wait for the show to begin. With shorter days in October, dusk arrives noticeably earlier.
Tips
The area in front of the station also gets crowded from evening onward on the day of the fireworks, so pick up your food early. Roads to the venue get congested after dark, so allow plenty of time to get there.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. It's reassuring to finish your shopping before sunset.
