About this spot

This is the underground mall 《Smile (スメール)》 spreading out in front of Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station (近鉄四日市駅), along with the adjoining shopping street area of the central district. Restaurants, cafés, and general stores line the streets, and during the festival it gets especially lively with people in yukata. The air-conditioned underground mall is also ideal for escaping the height of summer's heat, making it a perfect place to cool off while having lunch. Fill up well here in preparation for your afternoon walk through town.

Tips

Good access within walking distance of both Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station (近鉄四日市駅) and JR Yokkaichi Station (JR四日市駅). Crowds are expected on the day of the festival, so visiting earlier makes things go smoothly. The underground mall is also convenient as a route on rainy days.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Since it gets crowded around lunchtime, visiting around noon is recommended.
