A mixed-use commercial complex at the west exit of Kuwana Station, featuring restaurants, supermarkets, and public facilities as a station-front hub. Enjoy an early dinner here before heading to Kasuga Shrine, the festival venue, to make your evening festival viewing more comfortable. The air-conditioned interior is also perfect for taking refuge from the summer heat and resting for a while. Since the surrounding area is expected to be crowded on festival day, it's recommended to finish dinner early with time to spare.

桑名の総鎮守・春日神社(桑名宗社)を舞台に、江戸時代から続く伝統行事「桑名石取祭」が繰り広げられます。国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されており、太鼓と鉦を打ち鳴らしながら町内ごとに趣向を凝らした祭車が曳き回される様子から「日本一やかましい祭り」とも称されています。2026年は8月1日(土)・2日(日)の2日間にわたって開催され、このコースでは初日である8月1日の祭りの熱気を主役に据えています。金色に輝く祭車が神社周辺に集まり、太鼓と鉦の音が重なり合う様子は、昼間に見学した石取会館での予習をもってすると一層味わい深く感じられるはずです。開始時刻や祭車の巡行ルートの詳細は現地の案内や公式情報で確認しておきましょう。

Tips

祭り当日は神社周辺が大変混雑し、車両通行止めになる場合があります。公共交通機関の利用が安心です。屋台の出店状況は年により変わるため、夕食はサンファーレ桑名で済ませておくと安心です。小さな子ども連れは音の大きさに驚くことがあるので、様子を見ながら距離を調整しましょう。
