This is a popular local walking route where seasonal wildflowers bloom, making it ideal for a leisurely stroll before or after visiting the shrine. 筑後平野を見渡す高台に鎮座する千栗八幡宮で、毎年8月1日に行われる伝統行事です。境内に設けられた茅で作った大きな輪をくぐることで、半年間に知らず知らず身についた罪や穢れを祓い、残り半年の無病息災を祈願します。2026年は8月1日(土)の朝7時から神事が始まり、終日お参りすることができます。長い歴史を持つ神社で、地域に根づいた夏越の伝統にふれる貴重な機会です。
Tips
高台にあるため境内までは階段や坂道があります。歩きやすい靴で訪れましょう。夏場の日中は日差しが強いため、参拝の際は水分補給を忘れずに。
