The Shiodome Kannon Festival (潮塞観音祭), held at Shiodome Kannon (潮塞観音) in Shiroishi Town, is a summer tradition passed down in the community since long ago. In 2026 it takes place on Tuesday, August 25, and as the daytime heat eases in the evening and into the night, local residents gather to quietly offer their prayers. It offers a different atmosphere from the splendor of Yutoku Inari Shrine or the natural beauty of Inasa Shrine and Mt. Atago visited earlier in the day, letting you feel the simple, warm character of an event unique to Shiroishi Town. Quite different from the flashy festivals of big cities, it is a chance to experience a form of faith deeply rooted in the local community.
