A fishing town with a history dating back to the Edo period, featuring retro charm with old wooden houses remaining in neatly gridded lanes. Close to Togawa Station, the final stop on the Choshi Electric Railway, the Showa-era atmosphere of shops and sloped streets evoke the town's port-town history. Unlike the grand scenery of Inubosaki Lighthouse and Byobujikaura, discover Choshi's charm rooted in everyday life.
Tips
The lanes are also residential streets, so please be respectful and quiet while strolling. There are many slopes, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Taking the Choshi Electric Railway adds a retro train journey to your experience.
