This historic temple representing Narita has over 1,000 years of history and is known nationwide as one of the most visited temples during New Year's. The vast temple grounds feature numerous points of interest including the solemn main hall, a scarlet three-tiered pagoda, and a beautifully decorated tablet hall. This location is perfect for a family visit, befitting its position as the center of Narita, which developed as a temple gate town.

Tips

The temple grounds are expansive, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. In summer, some areas have little shade, so bring sun protection. It's helpful to check the reception times for various prayers and blessings such as Goma prayers in advance.

Approximately 1 hour. From late morning through midday is relatively calm for visits
