A museum located on the elevated grounds of Inohana Park with an impressive castle-style exterior, affectionately known as 'Chiba Castle.' It features exhibits about the history of the Chiba clan, who revered Myoken-sama as their guardian deity and ruled these lands, as well as displays tracing the city's development. The observation floor on the top floor offers panoramic views of the city. Learning about the Chiba clan's history, which forms the backdrop of the Myoken Grand Festival, will enhance your appreciation of the festival later in the evening.

千葉氏の守護神として崇められてきた妙見様を祀る千葉神社で営まれる「妙見大祭」です。2026年は8月16日から22日までの1週間にわたって続き、境内や周辺には多くの参拝客が訪れます。千葉のまちの歴史とともに受け継がれてきた由緒ある祭礼で、都心にありながら伝統行事の厳かな雰囲気を感じられるのが魅力です。博物館や科学館をめぐった1日の締めくくりに、家族で夜のお参りを楽しみましょう。

Tips

祭礼期間中は境内や周辺が混み合うことがあるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。夜の参拝は足元が暗い箇所もあるので、歩きやすい靴で訪れましょう。夜は気温が下がることがあるので羽織ものがあると安心です。

Tips

The observation floor on the top floor offers excellent views, so visiting on a clear day is recommended. The park has many cherry trees and offers different scenery depending on the season. Parking is limited in number.

Approximately 1 hour required. Relatively uncrowded in the late morning through early afternoon.
