About this spot

This park was developed from the ruins of a castle said to have once been the residence of a warlord who governed the Aki area, and it preserves some of the original structural remains to this day. It's a locally cherished historic site where you can feel the history of Aki-machi, which developed as a castle town. Since it's maintained as a park, families can easily stop by and enjoy a stroll. Learning about this region's history before heading to the harbor town makes the evening's Kawabune Festival feel even more meaningful.

Tips

Footing can be unstable in some areas around the ruins, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There are areas with little shade in summer, so remember to stay hydrated.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The calm afternoon hours are good for a leisurely stroll.
