A gorge carved out over many years by a clear stream flowing through Yamaga-machi, with beautiful scenery formed by transparent water and rocky cliffs as its main appeal. In some spots the water is shallow, and it is a nature spot beloved by locals where families are often seen enjoying the water in summer. A promenade runs along the gorge, so you can also enjoy strolling while listening to the sound of the river. It is a place where you can feel the coolness unique to Yamaga, letting you forget the heat of midsummer.
Tips
If you plan to play in the water, it is reassuring to bring a change of clothes and a towel. The rocks can be slippery, so walking shoes are safer than sandals. Avoid entering when the water level is high.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Even during hours of strong sunlight, the inside of the gorge stays relatively cool
