A 100-meter-tall observation tower in the heart of Beppu. The observation deck offers a sweeping 360-degree panorama: the blue waters of Beppu Bay, hot spring steam rising from the town, and the majestic Mount Tsurumi rising beyond. The tower itself is beloved as a symbol of the city. Starting here to orient yourself to Beppu's geography makes it easier to understand the layout as you visit Umijigoku and Takegawara Onsen later, and head to Hamawaki Onsen for the evening festival. On clear days, mountain ranges across the Seto Inland Sea come into view—the perfect opening shot for your day.

別府温泉発祥の地のひとつとされる浜脇温泉一帯で、2026年8月29日(土)・30日(日)に行われる夏祭りです。会場周辺には出店が並び、提灯に照らされた温泉街を浴衣姿の人々が行き交う、別府らしい湯の街の夏の風物詩です。坂の多い浜脇の路地は昼間とは違う表情を見せ、湯けむりと祭り囃子が入り混じる独特の雰囲気に包まれます。初日である29日は宵宮としての賑わいが中心で、家族連れでも歩きやすい規模感が魅力です。
Tips
会場周辺は道が狭く坂もあるため、歩きやすい靴で。夜は海風で涼しくなるので、薄手の羽織ものがあると安心です。屋台の混雑を避けたい場合は開始直後の時間帯がおすすめです。
