About this spot

A venerable temple founded around 1560 during the Sengoku period, coinciding with the construction of Tondabayashi temple town. The temple town developed as a moated settlement with a neat grid layout centered on Kōshōji Betsu-in, and many townhouses from the Edo period still remain. It has been designated as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings. The streetscape of the temple town spreading from the temple grounds conveys the history of town-building centered on the temple to this day.

国の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に選定された富田林寺内町一帯を舞台に、2026年8月22日(土)18時30分の点灯開始とともに始まるイベントです。江戸時代から続く町家の軒先に手作りの行灯が並び、電灯とは違う柔らかな灯りが古い町並みを幻想的に照らし出します。会場一帯には各店舗の出店や縁日も並び、昼間とは違う静かで情緒あふれる寺内町の夜を楽しめます。

Tips

町家の路地は道幅が狭いため、譲り合ってゆっくり歩きましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるので、小さな子ども連れは特に注意が必要です。近鉄富田林駅から徒歩圏内で、公共交通機関の利用が便利です。

Tips

Within walking distance from Tondabayashi Station on the Kintetsu Nagano Line. The temple grounds are a quiet place of worship, so please visit respectfully. The surrounding alleys are narrow, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
